Pakistan

Global Mercy Foundation (GMF) is driven by a deep passion to bring hope and opportunity to families working as enslaved labourers in the brick kilns on the outskirts of Faisalabad, Pakistan.

Founded two years ago by Faizan John and a group of friends, through education and advocacy, Global Mercy Foundation is breaking cycles of poverty and injustice—empowering children and families to reclaim their rights, dignity, and future.

GMF partners with a local school, that currently provides education to around 90 children. Many of these children were previously unregistered, lacking the legal identity needed to access basic services like schooling, healthcare, and employment.

To address this, GMF helps families obtain birth certificates and national identity documents, giving them a crucial first step toward freedom and inclusion.

Our team works tirelessly to ensure everyone can be recognized by law and take part fully in society. We help families apply for birth certificates and ID documents.

GMF run workshops and outreach programs to raise awareness about legal identity.
Train and support communities and organizations to overcome barriers.
Focus on those most affected, including people in poverty and marginalized groups.

GMF have been so blessed to receive a new motorcycle from bikes4mission a UK Charity that partners with STURR. A shared Honda motorcycle serves as our “pool bike,” allowing team members to travel between government offices and schools to register children and submit documentation efficiently.

Through STURR and GMF, we believe every person deserves to be seen, heard, and recognised by law by helping families secure legal identity and access education. GMF is working to reduce poverty, create equal opportunities, build stronger and more inclusive communities. Together, we’re helping transform lives—one identity, one child, one family at a time.
