CEO and Founder of STURR
Mark Andrews
Mark has worked in mission for nearly thirty years and is passionate about issues around justice, living eight years in Mozambique working in Development. Since 2010 he has worked in different countries in South Asia, South East Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Mark has an MA in Missional Leadership.
Mark lives in Carmarthen, Wales with his wife, Julie and their cat, Hatty. Mark founded STURR in 2023 with a desire to bring change into peoples lives that is Sustainable, Trustworthy, Reliable and Resilient.
In his downtime, Mark enjoys photography, loves to travel and read, and does a bit of cycling too.

STURR also relies on the counsel of our board members who come from a range of backgrounds and share our passion for seeing people released from material and spiritual poverty wherever we serve and work.

Kevin Nutt
Kevin is semi retired from a career in business management and consultancy in the health and social care sector; with background as a lawyer.
My love is for the Lord and my passion for mission.

Julie Andrews
Julie spent 8 years in Mozambique working with an organisation looking after households impacted by AIDS. Since 2019, she has worked as a Ward Manager in a hospital in Wales. Julie has an MA in Missional Leadership. She has a passion to see justice and truth make a difference in people and their communities.

Richard Chiplin
I hate injustice and love encouraging others and showing it practically and spiritually.
I love eccentric and passionate people, artistry in all forms, animals and dessert.
My background is administration and project management in civil service, fire service, local government, social services and currently I work for a charity since 2016 in operational management.

Daniel Jenkins
Dan is married to Laura, and they have a son, Finnlay.
Dan is an Elder in his local Church and loves preaching.
He is a passionate reader of books.

Lloyd Thomas
Lloyd Thomas is a follower of Jesus, a husband, a father and passionate sportsperson.
With a background in mining and rugby, since 2015 Lloyd has worked for Christians in Sport supporting competitive and elite athletes from youth to adult. He has also served on various leadership teams in a local church context.

Chloe Thomas
Chloe Thomas is a creative practitioner working in art, health, and wellbeing. She is part of The Wonder of Wellbeing Gower, where she helps create spaces for people to reconnect with themselves, others, nature, and faith all through creativity.
Chloe is passionate about meeting people where they are and sharing both practical and prayerful ways to support whole wellbeing — emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
Chloe is married to Lloyd and they have a daughter Alaw.

Sol Goremano
Sol is a primary school teacher in Wales with a passion for education, faith, and supporting young people to flourish. He has extensive experience helping children develop academically, socially, and emotionally through his work in the classroom. Sol is passionate about the Bible and enjoys reading Christian books that deepen his faith and understanding of discipleship. He is committed to mentoring and encouraging others to grow spiritually and live out their faith with purpose. As a trustee of STURR, Sol supports the charity’s mission to empower communities through education, sport, and sustainable opportunities, helping create lasting change for children and young people.
The team
STURR has a dedicated team of volunteers who, alongside the Board of Trustees, generously contribute their time, skills, and experience to support the organisation. Their commitment plays a vital role in ensuring the effective running of STURR and in helping us deliver our activities and services to the benefit of the nations we serve and work.

Emyr John
Emyr is responsible for planning, organising, and delivering events that support the STURR’s aims and bring the community together.
As Events Lead, Emyr coordinates logistics, works with volunteers and partners, and ensures events run smoothly and successfully.

Atena John
Atena is our Safeguarding Lead, responsible for promoting the safety and wellbeing of children and vulnerable individuals.
Atena acts as the main point of contact for safeguarding concerns, ensuring that any issues are handled appropriately and in line with safeguarding policies and procedures.

Iain Field
Iain is responsible for overseeing STURR’s technology systems and digital tools.
Iain’s role ensures that equipment, software, and online platforms run smoothly, supports staff with technical issues, and helps maintain secure and efficient digital operations

Gareth Killa
Gareth is responsible for overseeing the STURR’s finances, including budgeting, monitoring income and expenditure, and ensuring accurate financial records are maintained.
In line with the Trustees, Gareth helps ensure funds are managed responsibly and supports transparency and good financial governance.

Nishma Fernando
Nishma is responsible for managing STURR’s social media platforms and online presence.
Her role creates and shares content, promotes events and activities, and helps keep the community informed and engaged about STURR.
