Our work began several years ago through a connection with an energetic young couple, Indra and Manju.
Since then, our partnership with them has grown into an effective and meaningful collaboration supporting their initiatives.
They lead a vibrant church community that reaches into the surrounding neighbourhood, engaging people of all ages and supporting families in practical ways.
They have established an agricultural project focused on goat breeding, improving the quality of livestock and strengthening local livelihoods.
Sturr is pleased to partner with them in this important and impactful work.
Sustainable Goat Farming Empowering Local Families
Often called the “poor man’s cow,” goats require less land, feed, and investment while providing reliable income through meat production and breeding. This makes goat farming an ideal and practical solution for rural families seeking financial stability. Creating a growing herd that supports both breeding and meat supply for the local community. With access to road transportation, electricity, and clean water, the farms are well-positioned to operate efficiently and sustainably.
Beyond income generation, the goal of this initiative is empowerment. By demonstrating sustainable livestock practices, the project aims to equip local farmers with the knowledge and confidence needed to start their own small goat farms. As families learn to manage breeding, feeding, and herd health, they gain the tools to become economically independent and self-sustaining.
The project also contributes to the long-term sustainability of church ministry by creating community-based income opportunities. As the herd grows, more families will be trained and supported to develop their own livestock programs.
